TD Video provides 32 data fields you can use to describe each play.
The first 3 rows of data fields include Team, Quarter, Clock, Highlight Film, Result, down and distance information, run / pass / kick, runnng plays, running holes, passing plays, passing zones and passing results. The running plays and passing plays can be customized as well as labels for holes and zones.

Rows 4 and 5 contain 8 user defined popup menus. You can change their titles and the values on the popup menus. Use these menus for whatever you want and describe it with your own terminology.
Row 5 contains 4 numeric fields for player numbers plus a small text field where you can type a note. The titles for the player fields can be customized to reflect their purpose. In the example above, the first player field is labeled Quarterback and the second field is for Ball Carrier.
You can select plays in a game using any of these fields (except for Note).
TD Video provides several layouts of its project window to suit different purposes. The following view is provided for general video capture and data entry. Each play has an entry in the list on the right. You can click on any play in the list to see the video for that play. Plays with a dot in front have been selected. In this example the plays by the Offense are selected. You can use your Page Down and Page Up keys to move from one selected play to the next. Instead of creating cutup tapes, we select what we want to see and Page Down to see the next one.

The following view is provided for Live Video Capture at a game. The only data entry fields provided are the ones we enter live at a game. The play list at the bottom also shows you what data you have entered.

If you need more room for your drop down menus, try the Data Entry View. It puts the video at the bottom, so your menus have more room. You can use Voice Recognition to enter data in this view too. Just Speak the Field you want to enter and then the value. The vocabulary that you can speak is shown on the bar in the middle of the window.

If you create long lists for your user defined fields, you may appreciate the Data Entry Lists view. If you have lots of items in a menu, it can be easier and faster to click on one of those items from a list. If your mouse can scroll the lists - you can work even faster.

TD Video has lots of keyboard short cuts to speed data entry. Many of these short cuts are activated by pressing one key (no Command key required). These short cuts were designed to help us enter data live at a game as fast as we can. Some examples are:
O Offense
D Defense
Q Punt Team
S Special Teams
R Run
P Pass
C Complete
I Incomplete
There are lots more keyboard short cuts. These include tabbing into common data fields like End On.
The Carry Data Forward command sets down and distance information for the next play based on the current play. If the current play is 1st and 10 on the 20 yard line, and you run to the 24 yard line - you can enter that data and then Carry Data Forward. That sets the next play - 2nd and 6 on the 24 yard line. It also carries forward the Team, Quarter and Clock fields. You can set it to carry forward more data, like a particular player number field. If you track the Quarterback's number, it doesn't change with every play, so you can have TD Video carry it forward and save some time and effort.
